Abstract

Psoriasis vulgaris is a common chronic inflammatory skin disease characterized by abnormal epidermal hyperplasia and the infiltration of cells including neutrophils and T cells.¹ Th1 and Th17 cells particularly infiltrate psoriatic lesions, and they are thought to play critical roles in the pathogenesis. Psoriatic keratinocytes are morphologically abnormal, and they are also involved in the cell infiltration.

Antibody agents that block key cytokines have been successfully used clinically for psoriasis.
