We read with interest a recently published article by Kim et al.,1 titled "Long-term prognosis of burning mouth syndrome following treatment", which concluded that the long-term prognosis of BMS was good in patients who responded well to treatment, and that xerostomia and taste disturbance were associated with a relapse of oral discomfort in some of the responders.
