Albéric Pont, du fait de sa double formation de médecin et de dentiste, fut à l'origine de celui de Lyon qui accueillit au total plus de 7000 blessés. Par son charisme, sa compétence, sa créativité et sa générosité, il fait figure de symbole parmi les pionniers d'une discipline alors naissante : la chirurgie maxillo-faciale.
